Arizona GOP Rep. Eli Crane said Tuesday he's drafting impeachment articles for a judge who blocked the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department information.

"Partisan judges abusing their positions is a threat to democracy," Crane wrote on the social media platform X regarding his plans for Judge Paul Engelmayer, of the U.S. District for the Southern District of New York.

Earlier this week, Engelmayer issued a temporary restraining order that prevented DOGE from getting full access to the Treasury Department.

Nineteen Democratic state attorneys general argued that DOGE having full access to the department would violate the law, according to the Yahoo News outlet.

Crane called Engelmayer's actions "judicial overreach."

"Judge Engelmayer is attempting to stop White House employees from accessing the very systems they oversee," Crane said. "Where in the constitution does it say a President and his team cannot root out obvious waste, fraud and abuse?"

A hearing for the situation is set for February 14, according to CNN.
