Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on Wednesday will be interviewed by the House Oversight Committee about his relationship with disgraced financier and convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., asked Gates in March to meet behind closed doors because he might "have information that will assist" in the committee's investigation of Epstein, who died in detention in 2019 while awaiting trial on additional federal charges related to sex crimes. He associated with some of the world's most powerful men.

A spokesperson for Gates said that he welcomes the opportunity to appear before the committee, and said he never witnessed or participated in any of Epstein's illegal conduct, according to ABC News.

The committee has also conducted similar interviews with former Attorney General Pam Bondi, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Lesley Groff, who was Epstein's executive secretary.
