Democratic Rep Ro Khanna joins anti-ICE protest near Super Bowl stadium
“The Super Bowl is in my district, but I was not in the suites,” Rep. Ro Khanna said
California Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna joined an anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement protest near Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
There were about 300 protesters who marched around the stadium during the game, KRON reported.
Protesters held signs that read “ICE out” and denounced President Trump and his immigration policies.
“The Super Bowl is in my district, but I was not in the suites,” Khanna posted on X on Sunday. “I was with activists in my district demanding no new funding for ICE.”
No counter-protesters were present, and there were no reports of anyone being arrested.
While Trump White House adviser Cory Lewandowski said ICE would be present at the Super Bowl, NFL officials last week insisted there were no ICE operations planned for the game. There was no ICE activity reported in the game's vicinity on Sunday.
