The House on Thursday passed President Donald Trump's "big beautiful bill," meaning the legislation is another step closer to being signed by the president.

The bill is now in the hands of the Senate where some changes will likely be made.

“THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL” has PASSED the House of Representatives! This is arguably the most significant piece of Legislation that will ever be signed in the History of our Country!" Trump wrote on TRUTH Social after it was passed.

Here is a list of key provisions in the bill:

  • Extends the expiring portions of Trump's 2017 tax cuts, preventing $4 trillion in new taxes from being imposed on Americans
  • Cuts Medicaid funds from going to Planned Parenthood
  • Removes taxpayer money "for organizations that participate in transgender medical interventions for minors"
  • Codifies no taxes on tips and overtime for workers
  • Creates stricter eligibility checks for Medicaid
  • Increases border security funding
  • Ends many of former President Joe Biden's green-energy subsidies championed by Democrats in previous administration
  • Expands access to childcare and makes the paid leave tax credit permanent
  • Includes funding for the "Golden Dome" missile defense shield
  • Imposes workfare requirements for Medicaid recipients
  • Includes removal of suppressors from the National Firearms Act

While the bill is now in the Senate, there is some GOP hesitancy on the legislation, due to concerns about Medicaid funding and the deficit.

Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show earlier this month that he likely won't vote for it because it may increase the deficit.

"I'm not sure this big, beautiful bill can pass," Johnson said. "I'm not going to vote for it if it actually increases the deficit. And right now it looks like it will increase the deficit."

About five to seven Republicans have concerns about the Medicaid reforms in the bill, sources told The Hill newspaper.

“There’s probably five, six, seven of us who, if you do anything that cuts into benefits, you’re going to have a real problem," a GOP senator who chose to remain anonymous told the newspaper. "The leader is aware of that."

Senate Majority Leader John Thune met privately with the senators opposing the bill on Thursday.

Some GOP senators are worried that the bill may limit states’ ability to get more federal Medicaid funding through health care provider taxes and more working-class individuals will have to pay into the program.

Trump urged the Senate in his TRUTH Social post to pass the bill and get it to his desk as soon as possible.

"There is no time to waste," Trump's post reads. "The Democrats have lost control of themselves, and are aimlessly wandering around, showing no confidence, grit, or determination. They have forgotten their landslide loss in the Presidential Election, and are warped in the past, hoping someday to revive Open Borders for the World’s criminals to be able to pour into our Country, men to be able to play in women’s sports, and transgender for everybody. They don’t realize that these things, and so many more like them, will NEVER AGAIN happen!"
