Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Tuesday told the Senate Intelligence Committee that classified information was not revealed in a group chat among top Trump administration officials and a journalist mistakenly included in the conversation about U.S. plans to launch air strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen.

"There was no classified material that was shared in that signal chat," Gabbard said in response to questions by committee Vice Chairman Sen. Mark Warner, a Virginia Democrat.

Gabbard was reportedly on the March 15 group chat on the encrypted messaging app Signal that took place about two hours before the strike.

However, she declined to say at the hearing whether she participated.

Though Gabbard said no classified information was revealed, she also declined when asked by Warner to release at least some of the exchanges.

"You can't have it both ways," he replied.

Atlantic magazine editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg revealed in a news report Monday that he was surprisingly invited to join the chat and did so when it later convened. Goldberg has described the conversation but has not released specifics, he says, over concerns about revealing top-secret information.

The messages were reportedly shared among Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Vice President JD Vance and 15 other senior officials.
