Former GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz filed a legal suit Monday to try to stop the House Ethics Committee from releasing a report on him.

Gaetz made a last-minute attempt to stop the official release of the report, following Just the News and other news outlets publishing a draft of the report.

The challenge did not stop the committee, which published the official documents from its investigation shortly before noon on Monday.

The draft reports show substantial evidence that Gaetz violated House rules or Florida state laws that prohibit prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, impermissible gifts, special favors or privileges and obstruction of Congress.

Gaetz, of Floria, resigned from Congress last month.
