The Senate on Wednesday passed a stopgap to fund the government for three months in a 78-18 vote, likely averting a government shutdown.

The legislation is now on its way to President Joe Biden's desk and is expected to be signed.

The government will now be funded through Dec. 20.

The legislation includes $231 million to fund the U.S. Secret Service, according to The Hill.

Earlier today, the House voted to pass the stopgap in a 341-82 vote.
