Number 3 Senate Democratic leadership post up for grabs

The race for the number three Senate Democratic leadership post will soon get underway as retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., leaves the chamber. 

Shabenow is currently the chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.

Sens. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., are likely contenders. 

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., are both expected to remain in their leadership posts.
