Netanyahu recommends Hezbollah ceasefire, Israel security Cabinet expected to vote in favor

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said he supports a ceasefire with Hezbollah and the country's security Cabinet will vote on the matter this evening.

The proposal currently on the table includes a 60-day pause, where Israeli forces withdraw from Lebanon and the Lebanese army deploys troops to southern Lebanon.

Israel carried out strikes in Beirut on Tuesday as a ceasefire deal was being considered.
