House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced Tuesday that there would be a third hearing on China's political warfare and the federal government's handling of the Chinese Communist Party's influence in the U.S.

“Federal agencies have important responsibilities to safeguard Americans and U.S. industries from the CCP’s nefarious influence operations, but information gathered by the Oversight Committee shows the federal government is dangerously behind," Comer said in a press release

The House recently passed legislation to combat the Chinese Communist Party's influence on higher education in America.

The House earlier this month passed the “DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act,” also called H.R. 1516. China has been a major concern of the U.S. for the past few years.

Comer said that the Biden-Harris administration has failed to address CCP efforts to infiltrate the U.S.

"In fact, the Biden-Harris Administration appears to have turned a blind eye to the CCP’s political warfare," Comer said. "The federal government is in urgent need of a strategy to protect Americans and critical U.S. industries across the country."
