Trump backs House GOP budget resolution over advancing Senate plan

President Donald Trump on Wednesday threw his support behind the GOP-led budget resolution over the Senate's plan led by Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

"The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda, EVERYTHING, not just parts of it!" Trump wrote in a post on TRUTH Social.

Trump said that he supports the concept of a “ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL.”

"It will, without question, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" his post concluded. 

The Senate on Tuesday night voted to start consideration on the fiscal 2025 budget resolution, which would increase funding for defense and border security and domestic energy incentives.

However, the Senate's resolution would require a second resolution, putting the plan at odds with House Republicans who want to pass only one bill.

Congress has until March 14 to pass a bill before government funding runs out.
