A Colorado woman has been found guilty of voter fraud after casting ballots for her late ex-husband and son in the 2022 general election.

Elizabeth Ann Davis, 61, of Castle Rock, was convicted Wednesday of two counts of forgery and one count of impersonating an elector for submitting mail ballots for her late ex-husband and her son, in addition to her own ballot, in the 2022 general election, according to the district attorney's office for Colorado's 23rd Judicial District.

Davis is a Republican, according to the Associated Press. The DA's office noted that Davis "has an extensive criminal record, including prior convictions for forgery, theft, drug offenses, and prostitution in both Florida and/or Colorado."

"Those who seek to corrupt our elections or dilute our votes – by even a single ballot – will find a DA’s office intent on their incarceration," District Attorney George Brauchler said. "Those who seek to corrupt our elections or dilute our votes- by even a single ballot- will find a DA’s office intent on their incarceration. Here, a career forger learned nothing from her earlier convictions and soft treatment by our justice system.

"Here, a career forger learned nothing from her earlier convictions and soft treatment by our justice system. In an election between following the law and wanton lawlessness, Elizabeth Davis voted for prison … and we’re working to honor that election.”

Davis's sentencing will be on Jan. 9, 2026, and her sentence could range from probation to three years in prison.

Davis is being represented by an attorney from the state public defender’s office, which does not comment on its cases to the media, the wire service also reported.
