Dolton deputy police chief, strong supporter of Mayor Henyard, indicted on fraud charges

Deputy Dolton Police Chief Lewis Lacey, a strong supporter of controversial Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard, has been indicted on federal bankruptcy fraud charges.

According to the nine-count indictment, Lacey, 61, has been charged with bankruptcy fraud as well as making false statements.

He allegedly hid income and assets from creditors so he would not have to pay a $40,000 lawsuit settlement and lied under oath, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Henyard is under investigation for her spending habits, including $40,000 of Amazon orders.
