Two Buffalo, New York, police officers have reportedly been suspended after video captured them appearing to shove a 75-year-old man who fell and suffered a head injury during a George Floyd protest.

The incident Thursday came during a protest over the May 25 death of Floyd, a Minnesota man who died after a police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes. Floyd's death has sparked worldwide protests about police brutality toward black Americans.

Dozens of Buffalo Police Department officers reportedly resigned Friday over the handling of the incident involving the elderly man.

Video of the altercation was taken by public radio station WBFO near the conclusion of protests on Buffalo's Niagara Square, according to the Associated Press.

The man who appeared to be shoved to the pavement has been identified as Martin Gugino. He appeared to approach a line of officers clearing demonstrators from the square shortly before an 8 p.m. curfew. Gugino is reportedly in serious but stable condition at a hospital.
