Elon Musk's America PAC is facing a class action lawsuit, which alleges that voters who were promised to be paid for signing a petition in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election never received payment.

Three voters from Georgia, Nevada, and Pennsylvania filed the lawsuit last week for anyone in a similar situation to them, who allegedly didn't receive payment for their signatures or for referring other voters to sign the petition, which declared support for the First and Second Amendments to the Constitution, The Hill news outlet reported.

Musk and the super PAC originally offered those in battleground states who signed, and referred others to sign, $47 for signing and each referral they made, before raising the amount to $100.

Steven Reid, one of the plaintiffs, worked as an America PAC canvasser in Georgia and Michigan and referred “many voters” to sign but hasn’t received payment despite “multiple attempts,” according to the complaint. He is estimated to be owed at least several thousand dollars for the referrals.

“Plaintiffs are in communication with numerous others who referred voters to sign the America PAC petition, who are likewise frustrated that they did not receive full payments for their referrals,” the lawsuit reads.

Another lawsuit was filed anonymously last month against America PAC by a Pennsylvania man who alleged he was not paid regarding the petition, saying he was owed $20,000 for gathering signatures. His complaint claims he made repeated attempts to contact the super PAC but “to no avail.”

At the time of the Pennsylvania man's lawsuit, an America PAC spokesperson denied wrongdoing, saying the group is committed to paying “every legitimate petition signature.” However, the spokesperson declined to comment on this most recent lawsuit.
