President Donald Trump on Thursday evening said he would appoint Judge Jeanine Pirro as interim U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C., just hours after he pulled his first choice, Ed Martin.
The decision to pull Martin's nomination came after North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis, a Republican, said he would not support Martin's confirmation. The Senate was also facing a May 20 deadline to confirm Martin.
