Hegseth says Dan Caine 'right man for the moment' as top U.S. military officer

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Saturday that John Dan “Razin” Caine, a retired Air Force general, is the "right man for the moment" as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Caine, an F-16 pilot, was first put on Trump's radar in 2018 during the war against ISIS.

Trump has mentioned him at campaign rallies when talking about his surprise visit to Iraq.

"Razin Caine is the right man for the moment," Hegseth wrote on X.
