FBI Director Patel outlines latest developments in Charlie Kirk assassination case
Patel said authorities found evidence of a note that the suspect wrote prior to the shooting, which said something along the lines of: “I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.”
FBI Director Kash Patel outlined the latest developments in the Charlie Kirk assassination case during an interview on Sunday.
Patel confirmed that the DNA found on a towel wrapped around the firearm that authorities believe was used to kill Kirk matches the suspect, Tyler Robinson, who is in custody.
He also confirmed on Fox News that DNA from a screwdriver found on a rooftop at the Utah Valley University campus where Kirk was shot matches Robinson.
Patel said authorities found evidence of a note that the suspect wrote prior to the shooting, which said something along the lines of: “I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.”
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said the FBI is going to continue investigating those directly connected to the subject to find out what they knew in advance of the shooting.
Forensic evidence revealed the contents of the note even though the note itself was destroyed, Patel said.
