An illegal immigrant who struck and killed a girl with a car was provided a driver's license in the state of Oregon.

Elvin Elgardo Ramos-Caballero was released into the country by the Obama administration and ordered to be deported, Fox News reported.

He was arrested for allegedly killing an 8-year-old girl in Boise, Idaho earlier this month.

Oregon describes itself as a sanctuary state.

He was starting to make a right-hand turn in a pickup truck in Boise on Nov. 11 when he struck 8-year-old Mora Gerety, who was attempting to cross the street.

Fox News reported that Ramos-Caballero was ordered to be deported back in May 2019 over an outstanding federal warrant with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for failing to appear for an immigration hearing.

According to an official state government website, "it is against Oregon law for state and local law enforcement or public agencies (state and local government offices) in the state of Oregon to participate directly or indirectly in immigration enforcement without a judicial warrant."
