Three top Musk aides leave DOGE as billionaire exits government service: Report
DOGE Chief Operating Officer Steve Davis, adviser and spokesperson Katie Miller and lawyer James Burnham are leaving the department.
Three of Elon Musk's top staffers at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are reportedly leaving the agency alongside the billionaire, the White House confirmed Thursday.
Musk had his final day of government service on Wednesday, where he thanked President Donald Trump for the opportunity to help reform the federal government. His exit was long planned because of his status as a "special government employee," which meant he could only work for the government for 130 days a year.
A White House official told The Hill that DOGE Chief Operating Officer Steve Davis, adviser and spokesperson Katie Miller and lawyer James Burnham are also leaving the department.
The official did not disclose what the trio planned to do next, but Davis previously worked for Musk at SpaceX and the social media platform X. Burnham, who provided legal counsel for the department, is president and founder of Vallecito Capital LLC.
Musk said that he will be returning to working on his group of companies full-time, including Tesla, which has been hit hard by protesters opposing Musk's actions at DOGE.
