Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a press briefing on Tuesday unveils his plan to remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes from the U.S. food supply.

The Food and Drug Administration has reportedly approved 36 food dyes to eliminate that are commonly used in soda, candy and cereal, including Red Dye No. 3, Blue No. 1 and Green No. 3. Red Dye No. 3 was already banned under the Biden administration.
