Chicago police were told not to help ICE agents under siege: reports

“We’re not sending anybody out to that location,” the dispatcher said, according to reports

An internal directive from Chicago police leadership to withhold assistance to federal agents who were blocked by 10 vehicles, one of which contained an occupant with a firearm.

According to dispatch recordings, federal agents contacted the Chicago Police Department for backup while they were under siege. 

On Sunday, it was reportedly that local police were ordered by the chief of patrol not to help. 

“We’re not sending anybody out to that location,” the dispatcher said, according to the New York Post.

Local police reportedly retreated several blocks from the scene despite the federal agents dealing with a dangerous and escalating situation.
