Four people killed in Montana bar shooting, suspect believed to still be armed: Report

Four people were killed on Friday in a shooting at a bar in Anaconda, Montana, authorities claimed, and the suspect is still believed to be armed, the Associated Press reported.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms confirmed that multiple people were shot at a local business, and authorities are still searching for the suspect, who has been identified as 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown. However, local law enforcement said his home was cleared by the SWAT team. It is not clear whether other people were injured.

The shooting took place at approximately 12:30 p.m. Eastern time, which was 10:30 a.m. local time.

Authorities said Brown was last seen in the Stump Town area, west of Anaconda. Anaconda, which has a population of 9,000 residents, is located approximately 75 miles southeast of Missoula, Montana.

Authorities have not yet disclosed what led to the shooting, or how many people were involved. The FBI is assisting in the response to the shooting, but local law enforcement is leading the investigation.
