Gunman shot by Secret Service near White House: report

Dozens of gunshots were reportedly heard near the White House on Saturday night. 

The incident resulted in a lockdown.

The U.S. Secret Service reportedly killed the shooter after he shots a civilian. 

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the incident occurred and said law enforcement is on the scene. 

The shots were reportedly fired at the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest.

Members of the press ran into the White House briefing room after hearing the shots.
