D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowers began dismantling homeless encampments in the city, one day after President Trump told her to do such or else his administration will be "forced" to do so.

Bowser on Thursday ordered the removal of a 10-ten encampment near the State Department, according to NBC New's DC affilliate.

On Wednesday, Trump wrote on TRUTH Social: "We have notified the Mayor of Washington, D.C., that she must clean up all of the unsightly homeless encampments in the City, specifically including the ones outside of the State Department, and near the White House," Trump. "If she is not capable of doing so, we will be forced to do it for her!"

Bowser says she also got a call from the White House about cleaning up the encampments – specifically along the  E Street Expressway, which also delivers motorists to within blocks of the White House.

The mayor replied: “Thanks for the notice. We’ll take care of it.”

Some homeless camp residents told the news outlet that they wouldn't go to shelters, but instead just take their tents and go somewhere else.
