Mamdani skips Israel parade in New York City
"I said on the campaign trail that I wouldn't be attending the parade, and I've made my views on the Israeli government abundantly clear," Mamdani said.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani decided not to go to an annual parade honoring Israel on Sunday, which elected officials have attended for decades.
Attendees gather on Fifth Avenue in honor of the birth of the Jewish state in 1948.
"I said on the campaign trail that I wouldn't be attending the parade, and I've made my views on the Israeli government abundantly clear," Mamdani said.
Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y., was among the Democrat elected officials who reportedly attended.
