Mississippi Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann collapsed on the Mississippi Senate floor on Wednesday.
It is not known what caused Hosemann to collapse. After he fell down, he stood up and went back to his office.
However, a Hosemann spokesman said the GOP lawmaker in "good spirits" following the incident.
"Lt. Gov. Hosemann is doing well and in good spirits," the statement reads, according to a local ABC News outlet. "He appreciates all of the medical staff and is eager to return to work."
The Senate is currently in recess.
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves posted on the social media platform, X, that he and his wife were praying for Hosemann.
