One person dies after commuter bus hijacked in Atlanta, suspect in custody

One person has died after a hijacked commuter bus resulted in a police chase in Atlanta, officials said.

According to reports, a gunman hijacked the bus with 17 passengers on board in downtown Atlanta.

About 40 minutes into the police chase, the bus came to a stop in a residential neighborhood.

Police officers were able to block the bus with an armored vehicle and arrest the gunman.

The suspect, identified as Joseph Grier, 39, of Stone Mountain, shot one person on the bus.
