Leavitt: Gabbard not at risk of being fired after Joe Kent resignation

 White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday indicated that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was not at risk of termination following the resignation of National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent.

"Not to my knowledge. That's a question for the president — but I haven't heard him say that at all," she told reporters, in response to probing about a possible Gabbard sacking.

Kent, a close ally of Gabbard, resigned on Tuesday, citing his opposition to the Iran war. Kent published his resignation letter to X and urged President Donald Trump to reverse course on Iran.

He further insisted that the U.S. had been dragged into the conflict at Israel's behest and that the same had occurred during the Iraq War.

Gabbard subsequently issued a statement in which outlined how Trump made his decision, but declined to dispute Kent's narrative or to endorse Trump's final decision.
