Trump admin opens new federal-state migrant detention center – ‘Cornhusker Clink’ in Nebraska
There are now 11 state-federal-private contractor facilities that have expanded, opened or are in development since the start of the second Trump administration.
The Trump administration is opening another state-run migrant detention center – this one in Nebraska, named "Cornhusker clink."
The facility's opening follows the recent completion and opening of at least two other similar state-federal facilities: "Alligator Alcetraz" in Florida and the "Speedway Slammer" in Indiana.
There are now 11 state-federal-private contractor facilities that have expanded, opened or are in development since the start of the second Trump administration, according to an analysis by The New York Post.
“Thanks to Governor Pillen for his partnership to help remove the worst of the worst out of our country. If you are in America illegally, you could find yourself in Nebraska’s Cornhusker Clink,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement.
The Nebraska facility will add 18,000 new beds toward the administration's goal of expanding Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention capacity to 100,000 illegal migrants at the same time, The Post also reports.
