Trump toasts 'Great man' Mike Huckabee as Gaza peace deal progresses

President Donald Trump on Thursday cheered U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee for his work on the Gaza peace negotiations as the two-year conflict appears poised to end.
"United States Ambassador Mike Huckabee is AMAZING! He worked so hard, and did so much, to bring about Peace in the Middle East. He has very quickly become a Great Man. Thank you Mike!" he posted on Truth Social.
Trump made the remarks after confirming that Israel and Hamas had both signed off of the first stage of his peace plan, which includes the release of the remaining hostages in Hamas custody.
"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace," he said Tuesday evening. "All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!"
