The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense on Monday stated that Iran had launched four missiles toward it, but that none landed on Emirati territory.

"Four loitering munitions coming from Iran towards the country were detected, where three missiles were successfully intercepted over the country's territorial waters, and the last one fell into the sea," the Ministry of Defense stated.
"
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the successful interception of the aerial threats."

"The Ministry urges the honourable public to obtain information from its official sources and verify the facts, in addition to adhering to all public safety measures upon receipt of warning messages," it added.

The statement comes as the U.S. denies claims from Iran to have struck American warships attempting to escort merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump has sought to use the U.S. Navy to help trapped merchant vessels leave the Persian Gulf amid the ongoing Iran war, which is currently subject to a temporary ceasefire.
