US forces carry out five strikes against ISIS targets in Syria
CENTCOM said the latest operations occurred between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, resulting in the destruction of an ISIS communication site, critical logistics node and weapons storage facilities with 50 precision munitions.
United States Central Command reported Wednesday that American forces carried out five strikes against suspected ISIS targets in Syria over the past week as part of its retaliation for the deaths of two U.S. service members in Syria last year.
The U.S. and its partners launched Operation Hawkeye Strike in December after ISIS troops attacked U.S. and Syrian forces in the Middle East on Dec. 13, 2025. More than 50 ISIS terrorists have been killed or captured in response.
CENTCOM said the latest operations occurred between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, resulting in the destruction of an ISIS communication site, critical logistics node, and weapons storage facilities with 50 precision munitions.
“Striking these targets demonstrates our continued focus and resolve for preventing an ISIS resurgence in Syria,” CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said in a statement. “Operating in coordination with coalition and partner forces to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS makes America, the region and the world safer.”
The operation also occurred after U.S. forces conducted an airstrike in northwest Syria last month that killed Bilal Hasan al-Jasim, a senior militant leader linked to an Al-Qaeda affiliate, who had direct ties to an ISIS gunman involved in the December ambush.
