Vance: U.S. aims to release text of Iran deal this week
Trump officially launched the conflict with the aim of pressuring Iran into making concessions on its nuclear program, though whether Iran has done so remains unclear.
Vice President JD Vance on Monday indicated that the U.S. would release the text of the Iran deal this week as the terms of the purported agreement remain the subject of speculation and debate.
After previously stating that Iran and the U.S. would sign a deal on Sunday, Trump announced that both nations had agreed to a deal, with a signing ceremony set for Friday. Trump offered few details on the terms other than stating that the U.S. Navy would end its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
“We’ll be releasing the text this week and what everybody will see is that Iran doesn’t get a dime of money unless they perform their obligations, and the money that we’re talking about is fundamentally sanctions relief,” Vance said on ABC.

The war began in late February with joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Throughout the conflict, tensions have flared between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the terms of a possible agreement, with a ceasefire in Lebanon repeatedly proving a sticking point.
