You Vote: What is motivating Gavin Newsom to step up and blame Trump for the riots in LA?

A federal judge on Tuesday rejected Gov. Gavin Newsom's, D-Calif., bid to limit the law enforcement activities of the National Guardsmen in Los Angeles to the immediate areas around federal buildings.

Senior US District Judge Charles R. Breyer scheduled a hearing for Thursday, but declined to immediately limit the National Guard's activities. Instead, he sought arguments from both the Departments of State and Justice.

That evening, Newsom gave a fiery televised speech highly critical of President Trump and his response in LA to the anti-ICE riots.

With Newsom having been down so long over issues such as the fires in Southern California, men in women's sports, the economic condition of his state, the high rate of crime and the sanctuary cities, this gave him a chance to go on the offensive.
