A federal judge on Tuesday rejected Gov. Gavin Newsom's, D-Calif., bid to limit the law enforcement activities of the National Guardsmen in Los Angeles to the immediate areas around federal buildings.

Senior US District Judge Charles R. Breyer scheduled a hearing for Thursday, but declined to immediately limit the National Guard's activities. Instead, he sought arguments from both the Departments of State and Justice.

That evening, Newsom gave a fiery televised speech highly critical of President Trump and his response in LA to the anti-ICE riots.
