Biden completes a round of radiation therapy for prostate cancer
It is not clear what the next stage of his cancer treatment will be, but Biden's daughter Ashley Biden shared a video on Instagram of her father ringing the bell at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia.
Former President Joe Biden on Monday finished one course of radiation therapy for his prostate cancer and is doing well, his spokesperson confirmed to multiple news outlets.
The former commander-in-chief, who turns 83 in November, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in May, which had metastasized to his bones. He began the radiation and hormone therapy treatment earlier this month.
It is not clear what the next stage of his cancer treatment will be, but Biden's daughter Ashley Biden shared a video on Instagram of her father ringing the bell at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, which is a tradition for many cancer patients when they complete a treatment, per CNN.
“Rung the Bell!” Ashley Biden wrote in the Instagram story. “Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!”
The former president also started a pill regimen to treat the cancer earlier this year, and had Mohs surgery to remove skin cancer lesions.
