Big corporations Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft among donors for White House ballroom

Big corporations such as Amazon, Apple, Google and Microsoft are among the donors paying for the new $300 million White House ballroom.
The White House confirmed the donor list to The Hill news outlet on Thursday as the East Wing is demolished to make room for the ballroom.
President Trump said Wednesday that the project would cost $300 million, up from the initial $200 million estimate the White House shared in July.
“Over the years, many presidents have made changes. This obviously would be the biggest change. But this is something they’ve wanted for at least 150 years,” Trump said.
Major companies and wealthy individuals contributed to the ballroom, including Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman and construction executive Paolo Tiramani. Trump hosted many of the donors at the White House for a dinner last week.
Several of the companies, such as Amazon, Apple, Google, and Meta, have sought to strengthen ties with the Trump administration.
