President Donald Trump's accomplishment, which no fewer than seven other presidents sought, has finally brought Democrats to an unavoidable position: praising the 47th commander-in-chief for bringing peace to the Middle East.

Former President Joe Biden both claimed credit for himself and offered it to Trump in saying, "The road to this deal was not easy. My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war. I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line."

Former President Barack Obama praised the win but stopped short of praising his successor in his post: "After two years of unimaginable loss and suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza, we should all be encouraged and relieved that an end to the conflict is within sight; that those hostages still being held will be reunited with their families; and that vital aid can start reaching those inside Gaza whose lives have been shattered."

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Trump's 2016 election opponent, commended the president on Friday for brokering the Gaza peace deal.

"It’s a really significant first step and I really commend Trump and his administration as well as Arab leaders in the region for making the commitment to the 20-point plan and seeing a path forward for what's often called the day after," Clinton said on CBS News 24/7.

Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, praised President Donald Trump and regional leaders from Middle Eastern countries such as Qatar and Egypt for getting all the remaining Israeli hostages freed by Hamas and securing a peace deal that aims to eventually end the war in Gaza.

"President Trump and his administration, Qatar, and other regional actors deserve great credit for keeping everyone engaged until the agreement was reached," Clinton said.

Former CIA Director and Defense Secretary under Obama Leon Panetta also heaped praise on Trump for the Israel-Hamas peace deal.

"President Trump deserves a LOT of credit for bringing the parties together! This achievement – and it is a significant achievement – would not have happened without United States leadership," he told CNN.

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., a vocal supporter of Israel, also explicitly thanked Trump in a post to his X account on Monday, leading with a quote from former hostage Eli Sharabi that read, "Now, life." Fetterman continued, "The nightmare finally ends.May the hostages have a full recovery and may we never forget those who didn’t make it out alive. Credit to @POTUS for a breakthrough ceasefire of this awful war."

Rep. Jared Moskowitz, R-Fla., praised on his X account: “A weight has been lifted off the world as the remaining hostages are released. Amazing day for the families and for @POTUS and all the negotiators who made this day possible.”

Another House Democrat, North Carolina, Rep. Don Davis, highlighted the impact of the hostage release and said, "The release of Israeli hostages is an essential step for healing. President Trump and the negotiators are to be commended as this historic agreement unfolds, offering hope for a brighter future for democracy and regional stability in the Middle East."

Some Democrats, like Rep. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, split the praise-baby and thanked both former President Joe Biden and Trump in saying, "Today is the result of great American leadership, led by President Trump and his team, and also the tireless efforts of the Biden Administration. I am grateful to them and to all of those who played a role in the hostage release.”

On CNN, Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash., was asked if he gives Trump credit, to which he replied, “Certainly! This is an incredible accomplishment.”
