Navarro denies tension with Musk: ‘Elon and I are great‘
Musk has been critical of the Trump administration's tariff actions, going as far as describing Navarro as "dumber than a sack of bricks" and a moron.
White House Senior Counselor for trade and manufacturing Peter Navarro denied that there's tension between him and Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency, during a television program on Sunday.
Musk has been critical of the Trump administration's tariff actions, going as far as describing Navarro as "dumber than a sack of bricks" and a moron.
"First of all, Elon and I are great. This is not an issue," Navarro said on "Meet the Press."
"I’ve been called worse. Everything is fine with Elon. And look, Elon is doing a very good job with his team with waste, fraud and abuse. That’s a tremendous contribution to America and no man doing that kind of thing should be subject to having his cars firebombed by crazies," he added.
Musk has advocated for a free trade zone between the U.S. and Europe, rather than the approach the administration has taken with increased tariffs.
