Poll finds Stephen A. Smith as strong contender if he ran for president

A new poll out on Friday found that sports commentator Stephen A. Smith would be a strong contender if he ran for president.

Rasmussen Reports and Pablo Torre Finds Out conducted a survey that found 33% of likely U.S. voters view Smith favorably.

Smith is almost even with California Gov. Gavin Newsom and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as Democratic primary competitors, according to the poll.

The survey, conducted on March 26-27, 2025, included 1,021 likely voters.
