Trump inks peace, trade deals ending conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, blasts U.N.

President Trump on Sunday formalized a peace agreement between Thailand and Cambodia that ends a border dispute. 

“On behalf of the U.S., I’m proud to help settle this conflict and forge a future for the region,” Trump said in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He blasted the U.N. for a lack of involvement in the process. 

“Millions of people are alive today because of this peace treaty,” Trump said, “The United Nations should be doing this, but they don’t do it. They don’t do it. They turned off my teleprompter. When I made a speech, I had to make a speech without a teleprompter. They’re good at that. The escalator wasn’t working too well. It came to a complete halt.” 

Trump also inked trade deals with Cambodia and Thailand.

Trump agreed to a framework for reciprocal trade deals with Malaysia and Vietnam.
