Trump says he’s ‘pissed off’ at Putin and ‘very angry’ over direction of ceasefire talks
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump says
President Donald Trump revealed that he is “very angry” and “pissed off” after Russian President Vladimir Putin essentially called for removing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership.
According to Agence France-Presse, Putin on Friday advocated for a transitional government be installed as a way to force out Zelenskyy.
"I was very angry, pissed off" when Putin "started getting into [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky's credibility" and "started talking about new leadership," he said.
Trump said he would take economic action against Russia if needed.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump told NBC News on Sunday. "That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States."
Trump threatened a 25% tariff on "all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil.”
