President Donald Trump said Friday that he hasn't thought about pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, the imprisoned Jeffrey Epstein accomplice who has reemerged in President Trump's Epstein saga.

Top Department of Justice officials on Friday concluded their second interview with Maxwell, according to The Associated Press.

“It’s something I haven’t thought about it," Trump told reporters before departing the White House for Scotland. "I’m allowed to do it, but it’s something I have not thought about."

Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex-trafficking and other charges.

The interviews come amid a national public uproar, which started with President Trump's MAGA base, about his Justice Department effectively closing campaign-promised investigations into Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex-offender who committed suicide in a New York City jail awaiting trial on additional charges related to sex offenses.

Among the biggest questions is whether Epstein, who was friends with Trump before his first charges in the early 2000s indeed had a "client list" of wealthy, influential men, and who was on it.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche first met with Maxwell in Tallahassee, Fla., on Thursday where she is serving her sentence.
