President Donald Trump is in Norfolk, Virginia on Sunday to celebrate the Navy’s 250th anniversary during the ongoing government shutdown.

“I believe, ‘THE SHOW MUST GO ON!’” Trump wrote Friday evening on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He teased “the largest Celebration in the History of the Navy," saying thousands of active-duty service members and their families are expected to attend.

The visit comes as Washington remains at a standstill over the budget, which forced the federal government to shut down on Wednesday.
