White House promotes cheaper drug prices and jobs in celebration of Labor Day

The White House and Trump administration used the Labor Day weekend to promote the August jobs report and highlight its efforts to lower prescription drug prices.

The Labor Department released August's job reports on Friday, which noted that the U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs in August, far exceeding Wall Street expectations, though the unemployment rate for last month held at 4.1%.

The job report found that manufacturing added 16,000 positions, while construction added 22,000. The White House said more than one million private-sector jobs have been created since Trump returned to office, according to Florida's Voice.

The administration also pointed to its efforts to lower prescription drug prices through its "Most Favored Nations" agreements, which now covers roughly 80% of commonly dispensed pharmacy medications, and is expected to save Americans $600 billion.

"Happy Labor Day to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, and Dumocrats who will do anything possible to destroy our Country," President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday. "These Deranged People, after fighting for 10 years, should finally acknowledge that your Favorite President (ME!), knows how to win! 

"They should be exhausted by now but, sadly, they’re not," he continued. "They’re going to give it one last shot at ruining America, but we’re not going to let that happen. We’re going to win the Midterms, BIG, and save America!"
