NASA shares new image of moon from lunar flyby mission
The photo includes the Orientale Basin, which is the first time humans have seen the entire lunar feature.
NASA shared a new photo of the moon Sunday, taken by the crew of the Artemis II.
The photo, which was shared on the photo share site Flickr, shows the Orientale basin, a multi-ring impact basin. It's often used as a baseline to compare other impact craters on rocky worlds, including Mercury and Pluto, NASA said.
The photo was taken on the fourth day of the Artemis II journey, which takes the crew around the moon. It is the first time humans have left Earth's low orbit since 1972.
