Multiple protesters disrupt Trump rally in San Antonio
Trump slammed the protesters multiple times in his speech, describing some of them as "bad looking people," and commenting that one of the demonstrators needed to "lose some weight."
Security removed multiple protesters Wednesday night at President Donald Trump's rally in San Antonio, Texas, after they disrupted the president's speech.
The president was forced to pause his remarks at least three times during the event, which is intended to boost Republicans in the state ahead of the midterms. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is in a tight race for Senate against Democrat James Talarico.
Trump slammed the protesters multiple times in his speech, describing some of them as "bad looking people," and commenting that one of the demonstrators needed to "lose some weight."
"Many of them are paid, you know that, right?" Trump asked the crowd. "They have this perfect shirt made by the best printer money can buy. I love when they all have the same exact signs, all beautiful pink and purple and blue ... They're very expensive signs. They don't make these signs. These are paid protesters. They're paid by enemies of our nation."
The president also told the "paid" demonstrators to "get the hell out of here" at one point.
The comment comes as Trump embarks on a multi-state travel binge where he is shoring up Republicans in key states, including Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma and Tennessee. He is also scheduled to speak in Youngstown, Ohio, next week.
