Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are tied in a hypothetical rematch for the White House in 2024, according to a recent survey.

The pair claimed 42% support each in the latest Morning Consult survey. In the last iteration of the survey, Biden led Trump 44% to 42%.

The results appear on par with those of other surveys, which on average show a narrow race between the pair that Trump slightly leads. The former Republican holds a 0.4% lead in the RealClearPolitics polling average, which includes the previous version of the Morning Consult poll.

In the primary, Trump maintains a commanding lead over his Republican rivals, claiming 59% support for the party nomination. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis remains the second place candidate with 13% while tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy took 10% to place third. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley placed fourth with 6%, edging out former Vice President Mike Pence, who took 5% support.

Conducted Sept. 15-17, the primary survey questioned 3,404 GOP primary voters and has a margin or error pf +/- 2%.
