Putin says Ukraine war might be ‘coming to an end’
Prior to Putin’s comment, Trump said a ceasefire would start Saturday and continue through Monday
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday that he thinks the war in Ukraine may be nearing an end.
“I think that the matter is coming to an end,” Putin said the day after President Trump announced a three-day ceasefire, according to Reuters.
Trump said the ceasefire began Saturday and is scheduled to continue through Monday.
“The celebration in Russia is for Victory Day but, likewise, in Ukraine, because they were also a big part and factor of World War II,” Trump wrote on social media.
