Law enforcement in Nevada discovered over 700 pounds of fentanyl and methamphetamine after pulling over a driver for speeding.

On a rural highway near Ash Springs, Nevada, approximately 100 miles north of Las Vegas, a Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy saw a pickup truck driving over the posted speed limit.

The deputy pulled the vehicle over, which was driven by Francisco Joel Garcia Farias, 26, Fox News reported. A narcotics-detection dog alerted to the vehicle, and during a search of it, authorities say they found 13 large storage totes with approximately 30 pounds of suspected fentanyl and 677 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

According to First Assistant U.S. Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada, seven pounds of fentanyl represents about 7 million potentially lethal two-milligram doses. The street value of the seizure is estimated at around $2 million.

"These staggering quantities reflect a blatant disregard for human life, driven purely by profit," Chattah said.

The Justice Department determined that Garcia Farias is an illegal immigrant.
